Kirby’s Dream Collection: Special Edition Arriving Sunday with a Limited Release

This item might have snuck up on some of you, just as it did me: The release of Kirby’s Dream Collection: Special Edition for the Wii will be released this Sunday, September 16th, 2012 to celebrate 20 years of Nintendo’s tough cream puff. Six titles spanning the Game Boy, Super NES, and even the Nintendo 64 will be collected in this package with a suggested retail price of $39.99, and it also includes a special edition soundtrack CD and special edition collectible book (which details Kirby’s history and development), and more.

Overall, it looks like a much more impressive package than Super Mario Bros. got a couple of years ago with the Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition for Wii. Once I’ve gotten my hands on a copy, I’ll offer a more direct comparison and review of the product, but for the serious Kirby fans (I know you’re out there), you should also know that I’ve just received word back from Nintendo of Canada that like Super Mario All-Stars, this too will be a “limited release.”

Given that some people had quite a bit of trouble getting their hands on the other collection, leading to high reseller prices on the likes of eBay and Amazon and ultimately a second printing months later, you may want to grab this as soon as you can. By the looks of it, it will be worth it.
