New Resident Evil 6 Demo Arrives on September 18th

Whether or not you played the free demo of Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil 6 included in Dragon’s Dogma, there is good news afoot: Capcom has announced that an all-new demo containing different content will be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 18th (though non-Gold Xbox Live members will likely have to wait an extra week). The demo is comprised of content from the title’s three main campaigns, and can be played solo or cooperatively online.

Two playable characters will be available as Leon S. Kennedy and Helena Harper take on the victims of a bioterrorism attack on the moonlit grounds of Ivy University. In the neon streets of Lanshiang, Jake and Sherry Berkin take on fully-mutated J’avo with his hand-to-hand combat expertise and her handy stun baton. And last, but not least, Chris Redfield, Piers Nivans, and a team of BSAA members head to Edonia to face J’avo in the streets and a 3-story tall B.O.W. Ogroman. Chris and Piers have different weapons to take advantage of, including the latter’s sniper rifle with thermal scope.

Prior to this, however, those who got Dragon’s Dogma on the PlayStation 3 can now redeem their tokens in the PlayStation Store starting September 5th to see the demo their Xbox 360 brethren have been talking about.

Resident Evil 6 will be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 2nd, 2012, with the PC version’s release to be determined. Will you be ready?
