The Nintendo Download – 9/27/12

This week’s big title in the Nintendo eShop is the full release of THE “DENPA” MEN: They Came By Wave for $9.99. Part Augmented Reality game, part Role Playing Game, The “Denpa” Men allows you to amass an army of the eponymous characters from the radio waves around you before venturing deep into dungeons.

Also available in the eShop is the Virtual Console release of the 1990 Game Boy release, Quarth, which costs $2.99. This action-puzzle game from Konami takes a few cues from Space Invaders and Tetris as you attempt to fill in an ever-descending assortment of blocks before they crush you.

Hitori by Nikoli is another “Sudoku”-type puzzle game for $4.99. Up to four players can participate in this version, where you fill in any “unnecessary” numbers while making sure the same number doesn’t appear twice within the same line.

Kart Krashers is available for both the Nintendo eShop and Nintendo DSiWare for $4.99/500 DSi Points, respectively. However, unlike most games of the kart-racing genre, this one is single-player only. It combines kart racing with platforming across 30 events and 10 stages.

Also new to the Nintendo eShop this week is an exclusive Kid Icarus: Uprising 3D gameplay montage: “Throughout his epic odyssey, Pit will encounter numerous foes as he ventures through the Underworld and beyond, and in this montage you will discover some of these impressive characters.”

Finally, the Wii Virtual Console gets some love in the form of Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers for 900 Wii Points. This title follows in the footsteps of its predecessors while evolving such concepts as the 2-line battle and adding some new tricks of its own.
