Scenes from Canada’s Largest Pokémon Gathering

They wanted it to be the very biggest, like no Pokemon gathering ever was.

A few weeks ago, Nintendo put the call out for Pokémon fans to gather on October 11th at the Toronto Harbourfront Centre to celebrate the worldwide release of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, the latest entries in the hit series which continues strong with every new release. As Kevin Costner was once told, “if you build it, they will come.”

And come they did. 600 people? Nope; 1,000, perhaps? Nuh-uh.

By the time the dust settled, over 2,200 Pokémon fans converged on this location to be among the first Canadians to experience what wonders Pokémon X and Pokémon Y have in store.

Following are some captioned pictures Nintendo of Canada has provided from the event.
