The Nintendo Download – 11/7/2013

Woods, sports, and angels in bike shorts.

Wii Sports Club – The games which helped make the Wii a worldwide phenomenon are now available on the Wii U! Well, two of them, anyway– Wii Sports Club – Tennis and Wii Sports Club – Bowling are now available, while Wii Sports Club – Golf, Wii Sports Club – Boxing, and Wii Sports Club – Baseball are coming soon. In addition to high-definition graphics, you can also play against people online as well as locally. Join a club, compete against other clubs from your region, or just practice to improve your skills and support your club!

Toki Tori – Based on the critically-acclaimed Game Boy Color game, Toki Tori is the first of three Two Tribes games to come to the Wii U. Boasting improvements on every front, this platform-puzzle game makes the most of the Wii U GamePad with off-TV play and optional touch controls as you set out through 80 levels spread across five worlds to retrieve the eggs hidden away in each with the tools at your disposal.

Kid Icarus: Uprising – Huh… I thought this one was on the Nintendo eShop already. Nonetheless, it’s there now, and it comes highly recommended. The biggest strike against it may be if you’re left-handed; there are still options for that (such as the Circle Pad Pro accessory), but it’s up to the individual to tell whether they are ideal or not. But if you can get past that, Pit’s journey to stop the revived goddess of darkness, Medusa, is an exciting, fun, and funny adventure everyone should at least try to experience. Feel free to read my review for more information.

Wario’s Woods for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS – This release is strange from top to bottom. For starters, we don’t usually see a game released on both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console on the same day, but here we are. And while Mario’s rival, Wario, is the one with his name in the marquee, it’s Toad who you’ll be controlling in a monster-mashing and bomb-blowing puzzle game which follows in the footsteps of such titles as Tetris and Dr. Mario.

4 Elements – Speaking of puzzle games, can you unlock the four ancient books of magic and collect the 16 mysterious cards necessary to save an ancient kingdom from the powers which have corrupted it?

Crazy Chicken: Director’s Cut and Crazy Chicken: Director’s Cut 3D – Available on Nintendo DSi (left) and Nintendo 3DS (right), chickens have invaded the movie studio, and as the director, it’s up to you to clear the set… with a shotgun. But your ammo is limited, so be sure to make the most of every shot as you clear ten takes across two different movie sets!

KORG M01D – I know jack about making music, so I’ll just quote the description verbatim: ” The KORG M01D is a music workstation based on the KORG M1, the world’s first widely known synthesizer. The KORG M01D reproduces the M1’s unforgettable digital sounds of the 80s such as the “M1 piano,” stil heard on many songs today. With 24 voice-polyphony, over 300 sounds and an easy to operate sequencer, the KORG M01D helps you play and create your music at any place, and at any time, in a palm-size package! Furthermore, The standard MIDI file can be saved to an SD card so the KORG M01D can be used as a sketchpad. In addition, anyone can exchange song data using Nintendo 3DS Wi-Fi via StreetPass and the Internet”.

Luxor – As colored orbs make their way through ancient Egypt, it’s up to you to stop them by firing colored orbs into their chain. Match three or more colors to take them out of the equation and save the pyramids!

My Baby Pet Hotel 3D – This hotel has gone to the dogs… and cats… and more. Baby versions, at that. It’s your job to make sure they’re all comfortable and enjoying their stay, though, and you get to do so by using the Nintendo 3DS’s gyroscope, microphone, StreetPass, and PlayCoin features!

Secret Agent Files: Miami – This M-rated title follows former Secret Service agent Mia as she is stuck in Miami after being fired, and decides to visit her mother– who has no idea what her daughter has been doing for a living! But while the Secret Service was willing to let her go, it sounds like some of the people she met in her line of work aren’t so willing.

Nintendo eShop Sale: Beginning at 9am PT on November 11th and running until 9am PT on November 18th, select Atlus titles are $10 off in the Nintendo eShop, including Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan and Code of Princess.
