The Nintendo Download – 2/27/2014

Whether you’re a scholarly gentleman or a street-fighting ruffian, this week’s Nintendo Download has something for you.

Slim pickings once again this week, but at least one of them is worth its weight in puzzles, brain teasers, and high adventure.

Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy for Nintendo 3DS – Hitting retail and the Nintendo eShop on February 28th, Professor Layton returns for one last go-round (at least, until he crosses paths with a certain Ace Attorney) in Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy. You’ll journey across the globe aboard the airship Bostonius, taking on dastardly ne’er do wells and helping friendly locals alike with the aid of your keen puzzle-solving wit. This time, the puzzles’ themes are more strongly tied to the environment in which they’re found, but the greatest puzzle mankind has ever known still lied ahead as you try to solve the mystery of the ancient Azran civilization.

Renegade for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS – Before there was River City Ransom, before there was Double Dragon, there was Renegade. This 1986 release shows its age a little bit as you punch, kick, and throw your way through the thug-filled subways, parks, alleyways and parking lots of the city. Some may be interested to know that this is also the inaugural installment of what would come to be known as the Kunio-kun series, which included the aforementioned River City Ransom and Super Dodge Ball.

My Farm for Wii U – Starting with nothing but a single hen and a few pennies to your name, you’ll grow your farm by taking care of her, allowing her to produce eggs, and selling them so you can bring in more animals and purchase new equipment.

Tappingo for Nintendo 3DS – Create small pictures by solving puzzles which involve making all the numbered blocks extend to the correct length. There are two gameplay modes, including a time attack, and 100 different puzzles of varying themes, from sports to hobbies, computers, animals, and more.

Nintendo eShop Sale: Knytt Underground for Wii U – Through March 3rd, this platform adventure is 50 percent off in the Wii U eShop.

It’s 2/27/14, not 2/27/13, but hey! I’m happy to have discovered this site, via the NF Kickstarter!

    • Bloody– I was sure I’d switched it. Thanks for the note, and welcome! =)
