Nintendo eShop Ubisoft Game Sale Going On Now

Nintendo 3DS and Wii U price drops aplenty!

Nintendo is proving a little bit sneaky with this one, not having mentioned it in last week’s Nintendo Download. However, thanks to the keen eyes over at Tiny Cartridge, it’s not too late to get in on these deals!

From 9am PT on March 24th through 8:59am PT on March 31st, there is a Nintendo eShop sale for up to 50 percent off on various select Ubisoft titles. You can find everything here, but just in case that’s not working, the info is being mirrored here.

For Nintendo 3DS, everything included in the sale is $14.99, half-price: Petz Fantasy 3D, Rabbids Travel in Time 3D, Rayman 3D, Rayman Origins, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Shadow Wars, and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 3D.

Of this lot, I’ve only played Rayman 3D. A port of the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2: The Great Escape, this one is similar to the iOS version in that it lacks the mini-games and Globox village. Plus, the 3D felt kind of slapped on, and kind of hurt at times– and I’m someone who enjoys good 3D on the system. Overall, I’d pass on this one.

Similarly, Rayman Origins for Nintendo 3DS isn’t held as one of the better versions of the title, primarily due to its lack of the console version’s four-player mode.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Shadow Wars is generally considered the surprise “must play” of the group. One of the launch titles for the Nintendo 3DS, this version of the Ghost Recon franchise is a strategy game usually equated with the likes of Fire Emblem or Advance Wars.

For Wii U, ZombiU is marked down to $29.99 from $59.99; Just Dance 4, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013, Rabbids Land, and ESPN Sports Connection are $24.99 from $49.99; Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth and Just Dance Kids 2014 are $20.99 from $29.99; Rayman Legends and The Smurfs 2 are $27.99 from $39.99; Just Dance 2014 is $24.99 from $49.99; Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is $41.99 from $59.99; and Cloudberry Kingdom is $6.99 from $9.99.

As with Nintendo 3DS, I’ve not played most of these, but ZombiU is generally regarded as a good game which makes great, unique use of the Wii U’s GamePad touchscreen controller. In addition, Rayman Legends is said to be a terrific game, and if you’re into four-player side-scrolling platformers, this one may be for you. I’ve only played demos and bits and pieces of it, but I can honestly say everything I’ve played has led me to want more.
