The Nintendo Download – 5/1/2014

Kirby, Mario Golf, the first ‘Mega May’ pick, and more!

Well, happy birthday to me! This week’s Nintendo Download kicks off with two great games, and has more fun to follow.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe for Nintendo 3DS – Available May 2nd: Kirby is back! Find out everything you need to know about his latest adventure in my review here.

Mario Golf: World Tour for Nintendo 3DS – Available May 2nd: Fore! Mario and friends go out for 18 holes of fun, both in regular-styled courses and in places with the kind of golfing hazards you could only expect to find in the Mushroom Kingdom. I don’t have a review ready for this one yet, but soon. What I’ve played so far, though, is a lot of fun.

Mega Man Xtreme for Nintendo 3DS – I don’t think anyone expected this to be the first title voted on for Capcom’s “Mega May.” This Game Boy Color title takes stages and bosses from the first two Mega Man X titles and shrinks them down to fit an 8-bit style. Truth be told, though? If you’re looking for new content, you won’t find much here; wait for any of the subsequent releases instead, which remix the content at the very least.

Azada for Nintendo 3DS – Solve 40 unique puzzles and five master puzzles to free yourself from the cursed haunted room your uncle has placed you in!

PICROSS e4 for Nintendo 3DS – The latest title in the PICROSS e series now contains 20×15 grids to its more than 150 puzzles. And with save data from previous games, you can unlock even more puzzles, while tutorials and rule options allow newcomers to get their footing with ease.

Tiny Games – Knights & Dragons for Nintendo 3DS – The first Tiny Games collection for kids contains the following five games: Ludo, Chest Mover Mania (Sokoban), Ship Encounter (Battleship), Find Mines (Minesweeper), and 4 in a Row (Connect Four).

Mach Rider for Wii U – Wow, where was this last month?

Stick it to the Man for Wii U – Read peoples’ minds using the GamePad controller and use the giant pink spaghetti arm attached to Ray’s head (that he just woke up with one day) to fold, tear, and pull off the stickers which comprise his world.

Abyss for Wii U – Use the biomechanical robot “Nep2no” to explore the dark abyss of Earth in the year 3024. Natural resources are scarce and humanity is in danger, and it’s up to you and Nep2no to bring the newly-discovered energy source, “Gaia,” back to the surface. But will you have enough light to finish the job? Plus, two players can square off in a competitive mode.

Nintendo eShop Sales:

Tappingo for Nintendo 3DS – Until 0am PT on May 15th, this puzzle game is 30 percent off.

Shin Megami Tensei IV for Nintendo 3DS – Beginning at 9am PT on May 5th, Shin Megami Tensei IV will be $29.99 until 9am PT on May 12th.

Price Reduction:

Bird Mania Christmas 3D for Nintendo 3DS – Reduced from $1.99 to $0.99.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist for Wii U – Beginning May 5th, the price will be reduced from $59.99 to $29.99.
