The Nintendo Download – 10/30/2014

It’s 10/30… do you know where your downloads are?

Wow, what a huge list of releases this week! Including several that are on both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, which we have sandwiched right in the middle, so be sure not to miss those!

Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones for Wii U – This puzzle platformer places you in the role of a clone who must escape through 60 levels of a sinister, high-tech testing facility. You can also join with a partner in 2-player co-op, or even create your own levels! Check out the trailer here.

Costume Quest 2 for Wii U – This sequel to the hit Halloween-inspired role playing game features new costumes with special abilities and a revamped battle system as you guide these Hallo-warriors in their battle against an army of dental hygiene-obsessed foes. Check out the trailer here.

Color Zen – Demo Version for Wii U – With this free demo version, you can experience what this puzzle-strategy game has to offer before putting down your hard earned cash for it.

Cosmophony for Wii U – A musical shooter in which “you must control the heart of a fallen goddess within a dying universe in order to fulfill her destiny.” Featuring a “100% drum and bass soundtrack by DJ Salaryman (DnB Arena, RAM records).”

Falling Skies: The Game for Wii U – Following the third season of the television show, this puzzle-strategy game features the voices of the actors from the original cast as they embark on a new adventure.

Pixel Paint for Wii U – This program allows you to learn how to create pixel art, much like that used in classic and indie games. Create, then share with the Miiverse!

Rock Zombie for Wii U – A female rock band’s concert is invaded by zombies, and their only way out is to engage the horde in arcade brawler-style action. Three playable characters, 20 levels, 300 comic strip interludes to tell the story, and a “sound track that combines Hard Rock, Nu Metal and Alternative Rock to take you into a dark, rainy street atmosphere” await you.

Tetrobot & Co. for Wii U – In this puzzle game, guide Psychobot through the circuits of its bigger brother, Tetrobot, in order to fix the damage that’s been done.

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land for Wii U – This remake of the NES classic Kirby’s Adventure awaits you with updated visuals and sound, as well as new mini-games! Check out the trailer here.

Demon’s Crest for Wii U – Firebrand, the Red Arremer of Capcom’s Ghosts ‘n Goblins fame, must restore the six missing stones to the Demon’s Crest before the realms of humans and demons alike fall victim to his evil nemesis, Phalanx. Check out the trailer here.

Gargoyle’s Quest II: The Demon Darkness for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS – The NES prequel to Demon’s Crest follows Firebrand on his journey to find the source of the mysterious beam of light which destroyed his home. You can see the trailer here.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Plankton’s Robotic Revenge for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS – Released to retail last year, join SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, and Mr. Krabbs as they hunt down Plankton, who has destroyed the Krusty Krab and made off with the safe containing the super-secret Krabby Patty recipe! On the Wii U version, five players can join in at once.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS – A retail release from earlier this year, this game follows the story of the Dark Spark as its path interweaves with the the battles of the Autobots seen in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as well as their alternate-universe counterparts from Transformers: Fall of Cybetron. The gameplay borrows primarily from Fall of Cybertron, and if you don’t own an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, the game acts as a decent surrogate if you weren’t able to play that title.

The Nintendo 3DS version, however, is an entirely different beast. Though it follows the same story, the action in this title is strategic, following more in the steps of games such as Fire Emblem Awakening.

You can find my full review for each version of Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark in Issue #10 of Nintendo Force magazine.

Wipeout Create & Crash for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS – Another retail title from 2013, this game is based on the television show and allows two players simultaneously on Nintendo 3DS, while the Wii U version allows four at once. In either version, you can create your own course to challenge friends and family.

Woah Dave! for Nintendo 3DS – Slaughter everything, grab everything, and rack up a high score, because everything is out to get you– including your own ammo! Check out a trailer for this game here.

Duck Dynasty for Nintendo 3DS – “Learn to become a Robertson! Interact with Willie, Uncle Si, and the rest of the family from the hit TV show. Engage in a variety of mini games and 50+ quests that include Duck Huntin’, Fishin’, Froggin’ and Shootin’ as you explore the town of Duckville and the wilderness that surrounds it in this community simulator!”

Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley for Nintendo 3DS – Available November 4th. What do you get when you cross the hit Minecraft with the ever-popular Harvest Moon? Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley, that’s what!

Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX for Nintendo 3DS – A “completely renewed” version of Zombie Panic in Wonderland, this release features extra stages, and extended story, exclusive enemies, and two different control systems adapted for the Nintendo 3DS. Can you stop the oncoming zombie menace from overtaking the land spoken of in fairy tales?
