The Nintendo Download – 1/8/2015

Your Canadian Chariot awaits.

A few pleasant surprises await today, including one from right here in Canada!

Chariot for Wii U – This co-op platformer from Canadian developer Frima Studio, Inc. allows one or two people to help push, pull, swing, and otherwise move the chariot bearing the king’s remains from one place to the next. Skill-testing coordination mechanics and physics-based stunts are the order of the day in this puzzle-based platformer. Check out the trailer here.

Mega Man Battle Network 2 for Wii U – Lan and MegaMan.EXE are back in what is regarded by many as the best entry in the series. In addition to Battle Chips, how you play will determine the Style Changes you can equip for more combat options and abilities. Check out the trailer here.

Maze for Wii U – One or two heroes (simultaneously) can seek out the wisdom of the Oracle in this first-person adventure game. Solve puzzles, escape enemies and traps, collect coins, and see who can make it to the finish first!

Wipeout 3 for Wii U – 200 over-the-top obstacles await as you take on the challenge of this TV show-inspired game with new characters, controls, and camera angles.

Adventures of Lolo for Nintendo 3DS – In this NES classic from HAL Labs (creator of Kirby and Super Smash Bros.), the devilish King Egger has made off with Lolo’s girlfriend, Lala. Navigate tricky enemies and environmental puzzles by using blocks as your shield, as well as your weapons!

Best of Solitaire for Nintendo 3DS – 101 different single-player card games await. Use the Dpad or touch screen controls, and save at any time.

Painting Workshop for Nintendo 3DS – Create simple doodles or elaborate works of art, then save the results to your SD Card to share with others.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for Nintendo 3DS – Last year’s game based on the Nickelodeon cartoon series is now available in the Nintendo eShop. Personally, if it’s anything like the Wii version, you’re better off with either of the other TMNT games available for the platform.
