1TB Xbox One Revealed

500GB model sees price cut.

According to Microsoft, one of the most frequent requests they’ve received since launching the Xbox One is for a model with more storage space. To that end, they’ve announced a new 1TB model Xbox One console with a matte finish:

“Only Xbox offers the most choice when it comes to storage options, now with increased on-board storage as well as the capability to extend game storage by adding an external USB 3.0 drive,” notes Xbox Wire.

In addition, the new console also includes a revised version of the Xbox One controller which now features a 3.5mm stereo headset jack. This will also be sold separately in black and the special “Covert Forces” edition, which features a silver and black camouflage design.

Starting this fall, you’ll also be able to pick up an Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, which allows you to use the controller with your PC. It will be available by itself for $24.99 U.S. MSRP, or with a controller for $79.95 U.S. MSRP.

The 1TB Xbox One package, which goes on sale for $449 CDN ERP on June 16th, also includes a downloadable copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and a 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial. Meanwhile, “the $349 USD price on all standard Xbox One 500GB consoles will be permanent in the United States and select regions around the world.” Shopping around a bit, that seems to be $399.
