Microsoft Announces New Xbox One Elite Bundle and Lunar White Wireless Controller

‘Precision. Personalization. Performance.’

Today, Microsoft announced a new hardware bundle that will soon be available to those interested in stepping into the world of Xbox One.

Dubbed the Xbox One Elite Bundle, the highlight of this particular console iteration is the inclusion of a 1TB Solid State Hybrid Drive that will store the files you access most frequently on a solid state partition to optimize system performance. With this, they boast a 20 percent faster start-up from the Xbox One’s energy saving mode. What’s more, the bundle lives up to its name by including the new Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller which was unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo back in June.

On that same note, Microsoft has also announced a “Lunar White” version of the Xbox One Wireless Controller, which has all the same new features of the previous update, as well as “improved grip texture for more control and comfort.”

WhiteRangerIt also looks like it will go unquestionably well with any White Ranger cosplay.

So, here’s where there’s a bit of a small problem. Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One Elite Bundle will be available on Tuesday, November 3rd for $499 U.S. dollars, and will be a GameStop and Microsoft Store exclusive throughout that month, while the Lunar White Wireless Controller will be available exclusively at GameStop for $64.99 USD on September 22nd.

As for us here in Canada? The only information divulged at the moment is that the Xbox One Elite Bundle will be available in November and the Lunar White Wireless Controller in September, with no mention of date, price, or possible exclusivity — “please check with your local retailer for more information,” with the controller said to be available in “most markets.”

So we know it’s coming here at about the same time, but that’s all we know… though you can be sure the numbers next to the dollar sign will be different.
