The Nintendo Download – 11/5/2015

Yo-kai, Snoopy, Toki Toki, Stinger, Rodea, and a penguin, too!

No activities or Nintendo 3DS themes this week, but at least there’s games! And some good looking ones, too.

Yo-Kai Watch for Nintendo 3DS – I just talked about this at length in my review here earlier this morning. Check it out! The game, I mean, but checking the review out would be nice, too.

Toki Tori 3D for Nintendo 3DS – The Game Boy Color classic arrives on the Nintendo 3DS, with new features and content among its 80 levels spread across five worlds. This puzzle-platformer introduces new tools for you to master as you go along to aid you on your quest, and even has a new time rewind feature!

Battleminer Demo Version for Nintendo 3DS – Not sure if you want to drop full-price for this legally-distinct (one would assume) Minecraft-like game? Then try the free demo!

Rodea: The Sky Soldier for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U – Available November 10th: From the mind of Sonic the Hedgehog co-creator Yuji Naka comes this third-person action-adventure game which has you take on the role of the humanoid “sky soldier” robot known as Rodea to defend the sky kingdom of Garuda from the mechanical Naga Empire.

As an aside, I’ve heard that the first run of retail versions of the Wii U release also come with the unreleased Wii version of the title, which I think sports some differences (aside from the obvious ones). I haven’t heard if that’s changed, so if that interests you, be aware.

The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U – Inspired by the new movie and the classic comic strip, help Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts find Charlie Brown and his friends. In the Wii U version, a second player can join in as Woodstock for co-op multiplayer!

Stinger for Nintendo 3DS… or Wii U? – The press release says Nintendo 3DS, but the screens and the game’s page say Wii U, so… yeah. Anyway, who knew Konami was still doing anything with consoles? Yet here we are, with a release of their 1987 cute ’em up Stinger, a shooter for one or two players in which aliens from the planet Attackon have kidnapped Professor Einstein J. Cinnamon so they can zap his brain and steal the formula for the secret bio-nuclear sweetener formula, allowing them to turn Earth into a giant floating ball of cotton candy! (I’m not making any of this up.)

So, uh, if Konami is still doing Virtual Console, then how about Contra already?

Electronic Super Joy for Wii U – Quirky levels full of low-gravity, world rotation, swarming missiles, and giant monsters stand before you as you must run, jump, fly, and smash your way to victory. Check out the trailer here.

Christmas Adventure of Rocket Penguin for Wii U – As if starring a penguin wasn’t enough for you, you’ll be using your Wii U GamePad’s stylus to draw a path for Rocket Penguin to follow. Just be sure to keep his fuel supply in check!
