Ubisoft Acquires THQ Montreal & South Park: The Stick of Truth

thqmontrealApologies for the lateness on this one, but with THQ’s recent financial difficulties reaching critical mass, the company was recently forced to auction off several of its franchises and development teams. Included in this was THQ Montreal, which was purchased by Ubisoft.

Recently, theScore’s Aftermath post-wrestling show co-host Arda Ocal had the opportunity to attend one of THQ’s preview events for their upcoming release of WWE ’13. While there, he had the opportunity to interview not only the game’s developers, but he also spoke at length with WWE talent about not only their part in the game’s development, but their careers and more as well.

Here is a montage of sorts from his various discussions, with the full interviews below:

THQ set up an interview with former champion/boxing legend, “The Baddest Man on the Planet,” Mike Tyson, to promote the latter’s appearance in the upcoming October 30th release of WWE ’13. Here, he discusses how being a part of D-Generation X during the Attitude Era was a “prolific moment” in his life, as well as the in-game prospect of taking on the likes of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar, and John Cena. All this, plus new game footage of “Iron” Mike in action!

THQ has revealed the complete roster for WWE ’13 in the above video for the game, which will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii on October 30th. With a release date like that, one would hope that “Halloween Havoc” would be one of the arena themes available from the outset, or at least be some sort of free Day 1 DLC.
